Customer Challenge

One of the departments of the Customer wanted to evaluate the benefits of a cloud solution on AWS. The Candidate application to move was a legacy Vendor management system what was detached from their current ERP as the integration capabilities were not available. They had to prove success before other legacy workloads could move. To Accomplish this the customer looked to migrate the application to the cloud and worked with AspireNXT to place the application into the Refactor/ReArchitect Migration Strategy enabling the modernization of the application while migrating.

Choosing Amazon Web Services

Being an existing user of the platform, the customer was confident in the capabilities of Amazon Web Services. They concluded that hosting their application on AWS in the most cost-effective solution, and that AWS provides all those services at a faster and more efficient way to host their application. The organization undertook the Migration Journey in a phased approach with a complex Refactor of the  business application.

To start this journey, our client appointed AspireNXT, an AWS Advanced Partner to Assess, Mobilize and Migrate their Infrastructure to the cloud.

Proposed Solution

AspireNXT, an AWS Advanced Partner, created a roadmap that would allow them to Migrate Applications to AWS, Migrate Data and Refactor business applications.

AspireNXT approached the Migration by adopting the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework, starting with an Assessment of the application to understand the reusability of certain components within the application. A modernization path was carved out and the application developed and deployed on AWS leveraging Container and Serverless services.

The following figure shows the process of migration:
